Jess
Jess joined Iglu as a Business Administration apprentice in the HR team, excited to gain hands-on experience while learning on the job. From the very beginning, she felt supported and welcomed, which helped her settle in quickly and build confidence in her role.
“I’ve really enjoyed my apprenticeship at Iglu so far. Everyone in the team has been so approachable and supportive, and they’ve always taken the time to explain things and answer any questions. I’ve learnt so many useful skills, especially around communication, organisation and understanding how HR supports people across the business.”
One of the things Jess enjoys most is the variety her role brings. No two days are the same, and being able to put her apprenticeship learning into practice every day has helped her grow in confidence and feel proud of the contribution she makes. Jess’ apprenticeship has been a great opportunity to learn, develop and gain real experience in a friendly, people-focused workplace. -
Luke
Before joining the team, Luke was working in retail at Waitrose. However, he knew it wasn’t the right long-term fit. Having developed a passion for marketing during his school years and possessing a natural love for travel, Luke saw the job advertisement for Iglu and it immediately piqued his interest. The company’s "people-first" values were the final pull he needed to make the leap into a career he truly cared about.
“I have really enjoyed my time as an apprentice at Iglu so far. Everybody made me feel so welcome and the support system around me is amazing. The people I work closest with have been so helpful with getting me to grips with how they work and the process of things. I have learnt so many new skills that I will be able to use in the future.”
Luke credits the welcoming environment and the robust support system at Iglu for helping him settle into his new role so quickly. By combining his academic interest in marketing with the real-world travel industry, Luke has been able to master new processes and gain a versatile skillset.
