Summary of the role:

To produce assets, develop and evolve our live TV show every week - creating new content and ensuring the very best cruise holiday deals are brought to life to keep the interest of our viewers and customers & continuously looking at ways to drive viewers to the show whilst proactively increasing enquiries via this channel. Previous TV or Marketing experience isn’t essential as training on the below key responsibilities will be given for the right person.

Key responsibilities:

  • To market and promote our products through our TV show to achieve Planet Cruise enquiry targets.
  • To ensure all video and TV content is current and relevant and seek fresh/new footage via cruise lines and tourist boards.
  • Inter-departmental communication – Negotiate each week with our Product & Commercial team to ensure the best deals are featured each week & we have product variety, always showcasing the cruise lines/ships and geographical variety we have on offer. 
  • Produce assets for the show – collating & preparing the deals in spread sheet format for the channel, creating maps that appear on-screen, building a timing plan for the live hour for the TV producers/presenters to follow & subsequently loading said deals onto our website before the live show for customer’s point of reference.
  • Reporting on enquiries and bookings – continuously monitoring product that’s working on the show and how our customers respond to us.
  • To be creative and forthcoming with ideas for the show to keep audience engaged & interested and drive new viewers.
  • Work with the wider marketing & graphic design team for creative edge on the show and to allow maximum exposure of the show,  pre promoting each week and to push out once the live show has been on to encourage additional viewers, enquiries & bookings.
  • Supplier liaison – communicating with our cruise line partners whether via their respective account managers in our Commercial team or directly – negotiating the best prices, deals, added value, competitions, giveaways or securing their appearance on our show.
  • Actively engage with the Ideal World team – whether the production team, the sales team or presenters ensuring the best show delivery at all times.
  • External marketing – communicate with Ideal World to maximise on their marketing channels and negotiate presence and plan activity.
  • Ensuring the Ideal World producers & presenters and the Planet Cruise co-host are fully briefed pre-show each week so they can go on-air armed with up-to-the minute information on products/deals featured.
  • Briefing the sales teams to keep them informed on what is going on the show and how they book it.
  • Competitor analysis and analysis of new markets & TV shows/channels – to regularly monitor competitors to ensure we have the best times, products and feedback any observations to the Marketing & Commercial team.
  • To ensure highest levels of accuracy at all times throughout the media you are responsible for.
  • To drive brand personality across the show, continuously selling the benefits of Planet Cruise in our tone of voice and encouraging viewer’s confidence in us.
  • Assisting the wider marketing team with a variety of marketing admin and tasks when required.

The Person:

  • A keen interest in travel/destinations (cruise knowledge is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given to successful applicant).
  • High attention to detail
  • A basic understanding of Excel 
  • Basic knowledge of Indesign & Photoshop (not essential - training can be provided)
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines
  • A good attitude to work and an ability to use own initiative 
  • Organisational skills
  • Proactive & enthusiastic

Work Pattern: 40 hour week - Flexibility is required on a Tuesday/TV day and travel to Peterborough where the TV station is located may be required.
