We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the Data & BI Team in our IT Department. We are a growing team that is transforming our IT landscape to build a better business. We are building a data platform based on Microsoft SQL Server and AWS technologies such as Athena and Glue

We work agilely to deliver changes frequently to our users, aligned with our business strategy and plans, data and insight is an essential part of how we operate and make decisions.

Role Purpose

You will be part of a team of data engineers that use SQL Server and AWS to produce data sources for reporting and analytics. You will shape data into new models for analysis, integrate new data into the environment and maintain the data platform.

You will make a considerable contribution to our business, helping us make better decisions from the insights your data will provide. The core of our platform is built on MS SQL Server, but we’re expanding and learning to use more AWS services such as Athena, Glue and Sage Maker.

The Team

Our department of developers, product owners, and cloud infrastructure engineers work together to change our IT systems to meet our business ambitions.

The Data & BI team, composed of data engineers and analysts, work together to build our data platform and provide insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and maintain our Data BI Platform, including ETL processes, data marts and reporting data sources
• Strong experience of Microsoft SQL Server databases and SSIS is required
• Integrating data from our systems into our data warehouse to produce our “source of truth” for all reporting and analysis
• Collaborating with our business users to clarify requirements
• Building visualisations, dashboards and reports in Tableau, some previous experience of BI tools such as Tableau is preferred
• Experience in AWS data stack (Glue, Athena, Lake Formation) would be great & experience of Python / PySpark is a bonus
• Previous experience in a travel or e-commerce business is a benefit but not essential
